Beaver Contractors is proud to have been part of the Skyline Queenstown Luge revamp project in 2018, working with Naylor Love to deliver a world-class attraction.

We carried out earthworks for the installation of a new four-seater chairlift, increasing the luge capacity and enhancing the ride experience. Additionally, we created new sections of the luge track, widened the lower track, and established a new area for beginner instruction.

A significant aspect of the project was the aerial viewing platform, providing breathtaking views of Queenstown. The construction of its foundations on unstable ground necessitated geotechnical expertise and the construction of a substantial geogrid retaining wall.

We also undertook preparatory activities for the upcoming phase of the Skyline redevelopment, which included demolition, the construction of access roads, and footpaths.
